Instructions
HANDMADE APPLICATION
Application can be made by roller, brush, metal spatula or pad (sponge, paper, cloth).
After final sanding or screening, vacuum and tack the floor thoroughly, then apply PRIMOL PLUS (or GREENOL PLUS), carefully spreading it as evenly as possible. If necessary, after 10-15 minutes remove excessive oil non absorbed by the wood with a cloth or a polyurethane foam rubber spatula (normally this is not necessary when the oil is applied by metal spatula). Within 20-30 minutes after application, before complete superficial drying, polish with a buffer at low speed, using a green pad, to make even the oil coat. After about 4 hrs, to remove any oil residue leaking out of the joining lines and the wood knots, it is advisable to polish again using a yellow or a white pad. In case of strong colours, apply the product uniformly by pad and omit polishing to avoid colouring damage.
20 - 24 hrs later, apply GREENOL PLUS finish according to the above described procedure and respecting the recommended coverage rate. Within 20-30 mins, brush with a green pad; after 3-4 hrs, in order to obtain a more uniform surface, polish using a white or a yellow pad.
Optionally it’s possible to apply 2 coats of GREENOL PLUS without primer, allowing 24 hrs break between coats and following the above-described procedure.
For a swift cycle apply one coat of GREENOL PLUS by spatula and, with a 60-min. break, a second coat, if required. After the first coat, the oil could seem not completely absorbed within the indicated time range; in this case, polish the surface with a buffer at low speed, using a green pad, before applying the second coat. Within 20- 30 mins from the end of application, polish again with a green pad. Finally, after at least 60 min., polish, if necessary, with a white or yellow pad.
For a white colour paving: it advisable to add 5% of PRIMOL PLUS white to GREENOL PLUS
For an intense white colour paving: it is advisable to use GREENOL PLUS Super White (perfectly miscible with the neutral version to get the desired shade of white)
NOTICE
Agitate the can before use!
In any application method used, it is essential that the oils are applied in thin coats, using the recommended quantities. A too abundant coating could cause drying problems, particularly in the parquet joining lines (heads and edges) and the wood knots, where excessive oil could accumulate.
Do not apply at temperatures below +15 °C. Allow the products to reach room temperature before application.
To avoid too rapid drying in summertime, it is advisable to thin the GREENOL PLUS oils by 5-10% with Carver DILUENTE LINOLUX thinner. Do the same when spreading is difficult.
To obtain Euroclass Cfl on low density type of wood, a pre-treatment with FIRE PROTECT could be necessary.
Soak used rags and cloths in water immediately after use to prevent spontaneous combustion.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
GREENOL PLUS can also be applied at industrial level with spreading machines for the production of pre-finished parquet. It is essential to apply thin coats (8-12 g/m² per coat) and to brush the boards or planks with natural fibre (such as
tampico or sisal) polishing brushes right after each coating in order to help oil penetrate into the wood and to obtain
the best drying. The use of a hot-air tunnel (50-55° C for 100-120 sec.), when available, speeds up the drying.
Attention!
Both the oil quantity to be applied and the drying time depend on the wood species. The higher is its absorption capacity, the greater the quantity and the quicker the drying.
As a general rule, to obtain a good level finish we recommend overall (through application of several coats) quantities of 60-70 g/m² for porous and very absorbing wood species and of 50-60 g/m² for compact and not very absorbing ones.
To obtain Euroclass Cfl it is necessary to apply 80-90 g/m² (Primol Plus + Greenol Plus). On low density type of wood, a pre-treatment with FIRE PROTECT could be necessary.
USE AND MAINTENANCE OF OILED WOOD FLOORS
24 hours after the impregnating treatment, the floor can be walked on cautiously. 7-10 days later, it can undergo the usual wearing and the regular maintenance can start. During this lapse of time, avoid laying rugs or dragging heavy pieces of furniture.
For cleaning and normal maintenance we recommend Carver DETEROL wood soap. Optionally, to obtain more protection and sheen, you may use Carver DERGOS, water-based cleaner and protective with a low wax content. For white paving use
DETEROL white or DERGOS white.
For extraordinary maintenance and restoration of deteriorated places, first clean the floor thoroughly with DETEROL (to completely degrease you can use also Carver DETER PARQUET or NET PARQUET), then apply Carver CARSOL reconditioning oil (available in all versions of PRIMOL PLUS).
Dispose of excess product and empty containers properly.
If the original unopened containers are stored in a cool and dry place, the products will keep for at least 12 month
